T@lecom signs agreement with BT Global Services to resell
its Mobile Worker Productivity Solutions
December 2010
T@lecom today announced that it has signed a reseller agreement with BT Global Services,
the networked IT services provider. The agreement enables BT to resell T@lecom’s
WD Live solutions as part of the BT Field Force Automation portfolio, allowing both
its enterprise and public sector customers with mobile workforces to tackle field
productivity with enhanced access to mobile data.
The application allows organisations to convert current paper based field systems
into an electronic format that works on mobile data devices for remote employees.
With the ever increasing need to cut costs, increase employee productivity and improve
customer service, organisations are constantly looking for ways to streamline their
existing systems and business processes, as well as demonstrating a responsible
attitude to reducing their carbon footprint.
The agreement follows the successful deployment of T@lecom’s paper to PDA solution
to BT customer, Anglian Home Improvements. T@lecom provided the bespoke application
to fit Anglian Home Improvements’ existing back office system and procedures and
BT provided the hardware, airtime from BT Mobile, network infrastructure and managed
service including first line support from its BT Field Force Automation Service
Desk in Leicester
Andy Browne, Communications Manager, Computer Services Department, Anglian Home
Improvements, commented:
“At a time when every business is reviewing costs, our business process is under
constant scrutiny, the value of the Mobile Data devices and associated software
to our company has been deemed a must to proceed with.”
This solution was implemented successfully and T@lecom is looking forward working
with the BT Field Force Automation team in the future across all industry sectors
where customers have similar requirements.
Commenting on the deal, Paul Cleaver, General Manager, BT Field Force Automation
& BT Supply Chain Solutions, said:
“We supply the infrastructure, equipment and support. T@lecom provides the software
and bespoke integration. This addition to our BT Field Force Automation portfolio
will allow many of our customers to improve efficiency within their organisations,
whilst improving customer service at the same time.”
“The Service industry is a very competitive market; often paper-based systems are
too slow or don’t provide the information needed by senior managers to ensure that
employees on the road are working to maximum efficiency. Making the change from
paper to hand-held mobile devices with the help of T@lecom and BT Field Force Automation
is going to ensure many organisations stay competitive. BT brings the strength of
not just its BT Field Force Automation solutions, but also its complete Mobility
portfolio which together with the T@lecom solution provides an end-to-end managed
solution for BT’s customers, with just one point of contact for them.”
Jan O’Hara, Managing Director at T@lecom commented:
“We are very excited by this development; working with BT Global Services will allow
T@lecom to work with larger organisations. We will be able to provide a greater
level of support by using the infrastructure that the BT Field Force Automation
team already has in place.”
